John Gannon, 1951 – 2019

The family of John Gannon, 68, of Churdan held a visitation for family and friends July 5 at Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home. John Michael Gannon, son of Phyllis Adamson Gannon and Eugene Gannon, was born June 29, 1951 in Jefferson. John died at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson on July 3, 2019, at the age of 68 years.

Greene County district court, June 20-July 3

In Greene County district court Jody Lyn Schad, 44,of Jefferson was sentenced June 28 to five years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of theft- second degree. The prison term is concurrent to the terms in two other Greene County cases and one Dallas County case. Schad was fined $750 with a $262.50 surcharge.…

In Greene County magistrate court a judgment was entered June 264 against Richard Lee Norton Jr of Panora on a charge of public intoxication- first offense, amended from public intoxication- second offense. Norton was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge. He must also pay $300 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees. Court costs were $60.
