The Ram baseball picked up a second straight win on Friday night, beating Saydel on the road by a score of 4-2.
A complete-game performance from pitcher Brent Riley saw him take the win, as he gave up two runs on eight hits.
The Rams had eight hits for the game. Carter Morton had two hits, while Clay Smith, David Richter, Joe Anderson, Tyler Teeples, Brent Riley and Nick Breon had a single hit each.
Now 7-16 on the season and 4-9 in the Heart of Iowa Conference, the Rams will play Panorama at home Saturday night.
The softball team lost its second consecutive game just days after winning four straight games.
The Rams lost 11-1 on the road to Saydel Friday night, with eighth grade pitchers Emma Hoyle and Emma Stream walking 11 batters and allowing five hits throughout the game. Hoyle took the loss.
The Rams had just five hits of their own, with one each from Stream, Karissa Stephenson, Kyla Beyers, Izzy Bravard and Megan Carey.
The Rams split the season series with the Eagles and closed out their Heart of Iowa Activities Conference schedule at 5-9. Greene County is 8-17 overall.
Up next for Greene County is a road game Monday against St. Mary’s (4-10) in Storm Lake.
