The Ram softball and baseball teams took road trips in different directions Tuesday, with both teams returning home with losses.
Five defensive errors helped doom Greene County softball to a defeat Tuesday night against Class 3A No. 1 rated ADM.
Emma Hoyle took the pitching loss for Greene County, going three innings and giving up three earned runs. The Tigers scored seven runs during her stint, but four were due to errors.
The Rams scored three runs, all in the third inning. The Rams had six hits for the game, with two from Emma Stream and one each from Megan Carey, Izzy Bravard, Hoyle and Camryn Paup. They were struck out eight times by ADM pitcher Abbie Hlas. Hlas had three walks.
The loss to ADM ends a three-game win streak for Greene County, dropping the Rams to 3-9 on the season.
The Tigers are 13-1 on the year and the No. 1 ranked team in 3A.
The baseball team played the North Polk Comets and lost 11-1 after five innings via the 10-run rule.
Branden Hoyle took the pitching loss for the Rams, giving up six earned runs on nine hits without a strikeout. The Rams had four charged errors and got just three hits of their own all night long.
The win pushed the Comets to 8-3 on the season, while Greene County falls to 4-8.
Up next for the Ram softball and baseball teams are games against South Hamilton in Jewell Wednesday night.
