The Greene County farmers market will open its 2019 season next Tuesday, June 4. Markets will be held every Tuesday through Sept. 24, from 4 to 6:30 pm, on the east side of the courthouse in Jefferson.
Market-goers next week will help Dean and Nancy Rogers celebrate their anniversary with cake, fresh from the ovens at John 15 Vineyards.
Along with the Rogers, Deb and Mike Carter will have flowering plants and herbs from their greenhouses at Hidden Valley Ranch and Ram Restaurant will offer breads and baked goods. Tyler Soyer of Glidden and Mandy Sims of Dana also have gardens “in the works.”
“Gardens have gotten off to a slow start this season, what with late snows and so much rain, but we’ll make up for it with baked goods, fun entertainments and great meals from community favorites,” said market coordinator Chris Henning. “If you haven’t signed up as a vendor or a meal provider, or have a great idea for entertainment, the empty spots are going fast.”
