Brittany Gunn has been chosen to present the American flag at the Dayton Championship Rodeo Aug. 30 – Sept. 2. Until then, she will be carrying the flag in area parades to promote the event.
She was selected at tryouts May 5.
“I am very excited about having this opportunity to present the red, white and blue at one of the greatest sports on dirt. I’m eager for the adventures that await,” Gunn said.
Gunn is the current Pony Express Double D rodeo queen and has helped fundraise for the Easter Seals Camp Sunnyside. She has helped with a variety of events- dances, parades, selling raffle tickets and promoting the sport of rodeo.
“Being a rodeo queen, being involved in the rodeo industry has provided me some amazing opportunities to help others. I couldn’t imagine living my life any other way,” Gunn said. “I look forward to this opportunity to carry our American flag and be proud to stand for the men and women who have fought for our country.”
