In Greene County district court Elisha Zechariah Hiram Ward, 19, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment April 12 after he pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal mischief- third degree, amended from criminal mischief- second degree. He was placed on informal probation for two years. A judgment was entered for a $625 civil penalty and a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge. Ward is jointly and severally liable for $4,755.08 victim restitution. A charge of trespass causing damage more than $200 was dismissed. Court costs were $180. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. Thomas Noah Gannon, 19, of Rippey was granted a deferred judgment after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicate- first offense. He was placed on informal probation for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense, and he must complete a community college drinking driver’s school. A judgment was entered for a civil penalty of $1,250; one-half the penalty will be waived if he obtains a temporary restricted driver’s license. Court costs were $173. (Sentencing: McCarville)
Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Douglas Duane Owen, 37, of Churdan, driving while license barred, two separate cases; Shawn Robert Clark, 43, of Stuart, theft- second degree; Jason A. Thede, 47, of Jefferson, assault causing bodily injury or mental illness; Taylor James King, 26, of Des Moines, possession of marijuana; Bruce Lee Greer, 36, of Scranton, OWI- second offense; and Roderick Alan Klampe II, 27, of Carroll, burglary- second degree, criminal mischief- fourth degree, carrying weapons, and possess or carry dangerous weapon while under the influence. A trial date was set for May 14 for Owen and June 18 for all other defendants.
Cases were initiated in district court as follows: John Henry Sabus, 44, of Churdan, domestic abuse assault impeding air/blood flow causing bodily injury; Martin John Tolsdorf, 54, of Grand Junction, possession of methamphetamine- third or subsequent offense, possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of prescription drug; Juan Carlos Delgado Ramos, 41, of Alta, OWI- first offense; and Joshua Harold Gingery, 34, of Adaza, domestic abuse assault- second offense.
Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Anthony Scott Gray, 33, of Jefferson has been charged with theft- second degree. The warrant was issued Feb. 10 and returned April 18.
