Chris and Tracy Deal were presented with the ABC Award Friday at Greene County Chamber & Tourism’s annual meeting for their Above and Beyond the Call efforts in school and community development during the past year.
One nomination for the award summed up the Deals’ activities in the first sentence. “Greene County has been blessed with a young couple which in one year’s time has organized a hugely successful fundraising banquet to help finance teachers’ requests for their classrooms (BOOST), led the challenge to pass a school bond referendum to bring a much-needed new high school and learning academy for Greene County students, and convinced a major software firm to create a center in Jefferson….
“Chris and Tracy fueled a growing surge of Greene County momentum and excitement unmatched in many years.”
Another nomination stated, “This couple is truly a team, unselfishly supporting each other and the community. They have definitely gone above and beyond this past year and we know their love of the community will continue with more ideas and personal time and energy. It’s exciting to see the leadership of this next generation inspire so many others to be involved in community development”
