The Greene County boys track and field team competed at the indoor Dickinson Relays in the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls Tuesday. Coach Chad Morton said his team had a good start on the season.
Junior Carter Morton placed second of 101 competitors in the high jump, setting a new school record at 6’ 4”. Freshman Nate Black placed 23rd and tied his personal record at 5’ 10”.
Junior Tyler Miller, in his first season competing as a Ram, placed 20th of 174 competitors in the shot put with a toss of 44’ 5”. Junior Joe Patterson set a new personal record with his throw of 37’ 7”. Senior Bryce Hoyle threw 35’ 8”.
Junior Colby Kafer set the mark for the Rams in the long jump at 18’ 3”. Junior John Rosado jumped 17’ 9” and freshman Bryce Stalder jumped 17’ 2”.
In track events, Morton placed 21 of 133 runners in the 60m high hurdles with a time of 8.93 seconds. Kafer ran the 60m dash in 7.56. Junior Brent Riley finished in 7.66 and junior Tyler Teeples’ time was 7.74.
Sophomore Jaxon Warnke ran the 200m in 25.4 seconds, with Rosado behind him in 26.38. Both times were personal records.
A freshmen 4 x 200 team of Stalder, Daniel Rivera, Jackson Morton and Black ran the relay in 1:44.15.
