The North Raccoon River Watershed Management Coalition (NRRWMC) urges the public to provide important input for an upcoming watershed plan by attending the coalition’s open house scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 29, from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at the ISU Extension offices in Storm Lake (824 Flindt Drive, No. 101). A brief presentation about the North Raccoon will be made at 4:45 and repeated at 6. The public will have the opportunity to review the status of the watershed plan while asking questions, validating information and providing ideas.
The NRRWMC brings representatives of cities, counties and Soil and Water Conservation Districts together to collaborate on a healthy future for the North Raccoon River Basin.
Greene County environmental health director Chuck Wenthold attends the coalition meetings regularly. He told the county supervisors he plans to attend the open house.
