Following a successful week with three dual victories and a team title at the North Polk Round Robin Tournament, injury and illness whittled down the Greene County lineup as the Rams traveled to Monroe Thursday, January 10. The number one ranked PCM Mustangs handled Greene County 69-12 but the Rams pulled out a tight match from South Hamilton 42-39.
Sophomore Chance McCollum moved up a weight class to 120 pounds in the SH match and pinned his opponent to lift the Rams to victory. The Rams are 14-8 in dual meets and 3-2 in HOIC action.
Saturday Greene County competed in the South Hardin Storm Invitational in Eldora. The Rams finished eighth out of nine teams, filling nine of 14 weight classes. Brady Stauffer, Ran Fawarsy, Clint Dennhardt, Cameron Miller, Brock Wuebker and Joseph Anderson were unable to wrestle. Will Hansen and Bryce Hoyle weren’t able to finish their brackets because of injuries incurred that day.
