Greene County Chamber and Tourism members are participating in the Community Christmas Tree Lighting Thursday, Dec. 6, with a “Miles of Mittens” project.
Many stores around the downtown square will be open until 7:30 that evening. From 5 pm to close, holiday shoppers who bring a new pair of mittens to a participating business will received a 25 percent discount off a purchase made that evening.
The mittens will be collected and delivered to the Greene County Christian Action Resource Center in Jefferson.
Participating merchants will display a poster featuring a pair of mittens on their window or door.
