The Town and Country Band will tour the county presenting “A Town & Country Christmas” in the coming weeks.
The band will open its tour Sunday, Dec. 2, at 2 pm at Central Christian Church in Jefferson. The band will perform again Saturday, Dec. 15, at 7 pm at the First Baptist Church in Churdan, and on Sunday, Dec. 16, at 1:30 pm at the United Methodist Church in Scranton.
The band will perform a variety of Christmas music ranging from the very traditional “Greensleeves” to the totally fun “Saints Hallelujah.” Of course the band will play Leroy Anderson’s “Christmas Festival” and “Sleigh Ride,” because it wouldn’t be a TCB Christmas concert without them.
The band is directed by Victoria Chargo, band director at the Audubon schools. Chargo’s first band experience was playing the jingle bells with Sally White in the TCB percussion section as an elementary student.
“Our Christmas concert is the most enjoyable one we play all year, and this time we get to do it three times. We’ll have a good time, and we think our audiences will, too,” Chargo said.
There is no admission charge, but a free will offering for a charitable cause may be taken.
