The Ram girls basketball team fell in its season opener to the Ogden Bulldogs Monday, 48-27.
The Bulldogs built their lead early, scoring 21 points in the first quarter to lead 21-5. The Rams scored five points in the second quarter and four in the third quarter. The Rams’ best quarter was the fourth, when they scored 27 points.
The Ram team is young, with no seniors and only three juniors. Five sophomores and two freshman fill out the roster. It’s also phys ed teacher Tyler Westhoff’s first season as a head coach.
Sophomore Brianna Osterson led the Rams in scoring with six points on a pair of fourth quarter 3-point shots. Junior Bailey Cunningham and freshman Madison Hayes scored five points each, juniors Kassie Lamoureux and Izzy Bravard, along with sophomore Sadie Wilson scored three points each, and freshman Brianna Habben scored two points.
The Rams play the Perry Jayettes in Perry Tuesday at 6 pm.
