Tickets are still available for the Jefferson Rotary Club’s 20th annual dinner and auction next Friday, Nov. 9, at the Greene Room at Wild Rose Casino in Jefferson.
The evening begins with a social hour at 5:30 pm with complimentary wine and beer. The silent auction will be open and games of chance will be available.
A buffet dinner of prime rib and chicken will start at 6:30 pm. The live auction will follow with auctioneer Dave Whitaker warming up the group with a game in which everyone has a chance to win $100 cash. He’ll then auction off 40 items including an African safari, an all-inclusive Caribbean trip, a week at a Maui condo, entertainment packages, a cooking class for eight with Chef DC Bland at the Jazzedy Art Culinaire Studio, and other unique or useful items.
Breaking up the fast-paced auction will be 10 raffle drawings for $250 cash each and two raffles for half a hog processed to the winner’s specifications. “Along with all that, the dinner and auction is a chance to go out, have fun, and give back to charity,” auction chair Joel Williams said.
Tickets and the auction catalog are available at www.jeffersonrotary.org.
Proceeds from the dinner and auction are distributed to local organizations through a grant process. Since 1999, the club has raised more than $540,000 that has supported programs for local schools and youth, community projects, and the humanitarian projects of Rotary International and Rotary District 6000.
