The cross country season ended for the Greene County Rams at a 2A district meet Thursday at the Par 3 golf course in Panora. The top three teams and top 15 individuals qualified for the state meet slated for Oct. 17 in Fort Dodge. No Ram runners made the mark.
Coach Jeff Lamoureux said he saw much improvement during the season from all the runners. “They’re a great group of kids. I’m very proud to have coached them and I’m looking forward to continued growth next season.
Sophomore Conner Allender was the first Ram across the finish line in the girls race with a time of 23:43.75, good for 29th place. Junior Ashlee Harmeyer finished in 31st place with a time of 23:59.45. Other Ram finishes and times were junior Kassie Lamoureux, 42nd, 24:26.16; sophomore Makala Kafer, 43rd, 24:35.38; and junior Izzy Bravard, 54th, 25:20.29.
Team scores were Panorama 55, Shenandoah 102, Albia 122 Chariton 127; Roland-Story 129, Treynor 148, Pleasantville 165, Greene County 185, Colfax-Mingo 201, Red Oak 216, Central Decatur 230, and Van Meter 303.
In the boys race, freshman Logan Woodruff was the first Ram finisher, in 40th place with a time of 19:42.00. Sophomore Connor Brus was in 51st in 20:08.27. Other finishes and times were senior Jack Bryson, 55th, 20:21.50; sophomore Luis Velazco, 57th, 20:31.33; and junior Trevor Lebeck, 67th, 20:59.02.
Team scores for the boys were Roland-Story 57, Des Moines Christian 75, Albia 76, Red Oak 111, Treynor 115,Shenandoah 183, Clarinda 205, Chariton 243, Colfax-Mingo 247, Van Meter 267, Greene County 272, Panorama 281, Underwood 368, Pleasantville 406, and Central Decatur 451.
