Greene County Extension and Outreach is holding the Women in Agronomy program available beginning Friday, Oct. 19. This is an opportunity for women to collaborate with other women on topics of importance to their future in farming. The registration deadline is Friday, Oct. 12.
The goals of Women in Agronomy are to strengthen agronomic skills for women that allow for better decision-making, provide a better understanding of inputs for crop production, see and understand different conservation practices, and increase confidence in communication with spouse, farming partner, ag retailer or tenant.
The sessions are four Friday mornings from 9 to 11 am, beginning with a light breakfast at 8:45 before transitioning over to the morning’s topic. Sessions will be October 19 & 26, and November 2 & 9. They will be led by ISU Extension and Outreach program specialists and area agriculture experts. Cost for the program is $40.
Women can register by calling the Extension office at 515-386-2138 or mail in registration with payment. Persons who want more information can contact the Extension office email xgreene@iastate.edu or vist the office at 104 W. Washington St, Jefferson.
