The Ram girls placed fifth and the boys placed 11th at the South Central Calhoun Cross Country Invitational held Tuesday at the Lake City Country Club.
Ashlee Harmeyer finished first among the Ram girls with a time of 24:01 and in 20th place. It’s the first time this season Harmeyer has been the Rams’ lead runner. Conner Allender placed 23rd with a time of 24:19, and Makala Kafer finished 25th in 24:41. Other places and times were Kassie Lamoureux, 28th, 24:49; Izzy Bravard, 47th, 26:28; Kirsten Lamoureux, 57, 28:24; and Tieryn Tucker 58th, 28:25.
Team scores in the girls race were Ridge View 62, South Central Calhoun 82, Southeast Valley 106, Manson Northwest Webster 114, Greene County 115, OACBIG 116, Pocahontas Area 136, and Ogden 140.
Logan Woodruff was the first Greene County boy across the finish line. His time of 19:58 put him in 23rd place. Other places and times were Luis Velazco, 44th, 20:48; Connor Brus, 47th, 20:51; Jack Bryson, 51st, 21:02; Trevor Lebeck, 66th, 21:55; Jayden Carstensen, 70th, 22:06; and Brian Hardaway, 77th, 22:39.
Team scores were Ogden 74, Woodward Academy 81, Pocahontas Area 122, Kuemper Catholic 136, South Central Calhoun 154 Southeast Valley 164, Alta-Aurelia 165, OABCIG 169, Manson Northwest Webster 175, Sioux Central 182, Greene County 231, East Sac County 341, and West Bend-Mallard, 344.
Next up on the cross country calendar is the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference meet here at Spring Lake Park next Monday afternoon. The state qualifying meet is slated for Thursday, Oct. 18, hosted by Panorama.
