The Greene County varsity volleyball team was blanked at the South Hardin tournament Sept. 8, losing all four matches and only three of 10 games.
The Rams first played Oelwein. The first game of the day was a 13-21 loss for the Rams, but the next two games were much closer, with a 22-20 win followed by a 14-16 loss. The Rams lost to Gladbrook-Reinbeck 13-21, 12-21 and lost to Edgewood-Colesburg 16-21, 12-21. Scores against host South Hardin were 21-19, 22-20, 9-15.
Junior Sophia Havens had a perfect day at the service line, making 36 of 36 serves. Junior Aubrey Heupel made 22 of 25 serves for 88 percent. For the tournament the Rams served at 85.5 percent.
Junior Luisa Slompo had 17 kills. Sophomore Lilly Muir led in digs with 23 and had 16 kills.
Junior Paige Heaning had 19 digs and Havens had 18. Heupel had 47 assists for the day.
The Rams are now 3-10 in matches for the season.
They Rams go to Gilbert Thursday for a triangular against the Gilbert Tigers and the Carroll Tigers.
