The Greene County eighth grade girls volleyball team opened the season vs Southeast Valley at Burnside Sept. 4. The “A” team lost a close match with game scores of 19-21, 21-14, and 20-22. The “B” team won all three games with scores of 21-2, 21-10,and 21-12.
Coach Teresa Green reports top servers for the Rams were Ashlynn Hinners, 11 for 12 for 92 percent with seven aces; Bella Schroeder, 8 for 9 for 89 percent with four aces; Natalie Heupel, 24 for 28 for 86 percent with 13 aces; Analynn Baugh, 5 for 6 for 83 percent with one ace; and Kaitlin Fields, four for five for 80 percent with two aces.
The team next travels to Gilbert on Sept. 10.
The seventh grade team also traveled to Burnside. The “A” team game scores were 17-21, 20-22, 21-17. “B” team game scores were 24-22, 10-21, and 19-21.
Coaches Denise and Charles Brobst did not provide serving stats.
