A new session of “A Matter of Balance” will be held Mondays, Sept. 10 through Oct. 29, from 9:30 to 11:30 am at the Greenewood Center, 401 W. Greenwood Rd, Jefferson.
The class is sponsored by Greene County Medical Center and Greene County public health.
The class is for anyone who is concerned about falls, is interested in improving their balance, flexibility and strength, has fallen in the past, or who has restricted activities because of concerns about falling.
“A Matter of Balance” is an award-winning program designed to help seniors manage falls and increase their activity levels. Participants will learn to see falls as controllable, set goals for increasing their activity, make changes to reduce their risk of falls at home, and learn exercises to increase their strength and balance.
There is a charge for the class, and at least eight persons are needed for the class to be held.
