Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Jefferson police department: Friday, Aug. 31: At 6:01 am a complainant reported the overnight theft of a motorcycle from the parking lot at 102 S. Grimmell Rd. The 1977 Yamaha was last seen in the parking lot on the prior evening. The motorcycle was entered in NCIC and the officer is investigating.

The Greene County volleyball team opened the 2018 season Thursday splitting a triangular in the middle school gym in Jefferson. The Rams topped the Perry Blue Jays 25-13, 25-21.
