The books will close Aug. 30 on the 2018 Greene County Relay for Life. According to American Cancer Society staffer Tina Coleman, the event has raised $38,500, with $1,500 remaining to reach the goal of $40,000.
“We know our community is very generous in its support of families dealing with cancer,” said Tori Riley, chair of the Greene County Relay event leadership team. “Relay for Life events across the nation raise money for cancer research, so supporting Relays is a proactive way to be part of the fight. We’re working for the day when families don’t have to go through those struggles at all.”
Donations can be taken to the Peoples Bank office in Jefferson, or mailed to the bank at 116 W. State St, Jefferson, IA 50129. Checks should be payable to American Cancer Society.
