The Iowa Smokefree Air Act turned 10 years old July 1, 2018. Iowa is one of 25 states that have enacted comprehensive smoke-free laws addressing secondhand smoke exposure in workplaces, restaurants and bars.

Cram the Cab nets $1,600 for local food pantry
Sponsored by Greene County Farm Bureau Shoppers at the Jefferson Fareway store helped fight hunger in Greene county by participating in the county’s third annual Cram the Cab event June 25 – 30. Rueter’s Red Power once again donated the use of a tractor to promote the event.

The Scranton bus service to the Jefferson swimming pool began running last week and will continue through Aug. 16. The bus picks up youngsters at 12:45 pm each Tuesday and Thursday. They return to Scranton about 4:30 pm. Riders should be at the bus stop at the Scranton Community Center no later than 12:30 to assure transportation.
