Adults who do not have a high school diploma are encouraged to enroll in High School Equivalency Diploma classes (HSED). Iowa Central Community College is offering a new session of classes in Jefferson.

Deadline near for adult co-ed softball league
The registration deadline for the Jefferson park and recreation department’s adult co-ed softball league is Thursday, July 5. Teams should have at least eight players, including at least three women. Players will hit a 12-inch .520 core softball. All bats must be on the ASA-approved bat list (not on the banned bat list).

Dinosaurs, snowballs, caterpillars and outer space will be part of the fun Thursday mornings in July from 10 to 11:30 at the Greene County Community Center. All children ages 3-6 are invited. A DinoMite Bash is planned for July 5. Children will spend the morning creating, searching and playing, with all activities having a dinosaur theme.

Shirletta Orchard is repairing flags from the municipal cemetery, and Shelly Berger did the repairs on flags from St Joseph Cemetery. Unfortunately, there are 56 flags that are need of replacement.
