The south wall of the Scranton fire hall has a fresh coat of paint thanks to some Greene County High School volunteers and funding from Scranton Betterment and Peoples Bank.
Makala Kafer (left) and Lizzy Allen sketched and painted the Scranton logo on the wall. It replaces an old mural that was painted many years ago. The design is very similar to the quasquicentennial logo, pointing out Scranton’s proud agricultural heritage as well as the historic water tower.
The Greene County High School students worked through high temperatures and humidity to assure the project was done before the RAGBRAI® visit.
