Services were held May 22 at Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home in Jefferson for Marilyn Tomlinson, 80, of Jefferson.
The Rev Julie Poulsen, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Jefferson, offered words of comfort. Honorary casket bearers were the late Jack Harbaugh, Trenton Tomlinson and Lilianna Tomlinson.
Casket bearers were Jerry Vincent, Gary Harbaugh, Taylor Tomlinson, Cade Tomlinson, Randy Tomlinson and Rodney Tomlinson. Interment will be at Dillavou Cemetery in Greene County.
Marilyn Tomlinson, daughter of Floyd and Dessie Sexton, was born November 18, 1937, in Bristol Township between Jefferson and Scranton. She died May 17, 2018.
Marilyn grew up on farms and started school at a country school in Hardin Township. She came into Jefferson school in fourth grade and graduated in 1955.
She married Wayne Tomlinson on November 21, 1956, at the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson. They were the parents of two sons, Rodney and Randy.
After graduation, Marilyn worked at Home State Bank until she joined Wayne in Germany where he was serving in the Army. After two years in Germany she returned to Jefferson and went to work at Brenton State Bank where she worked for 20 years.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Dessie Sexton and one brother, Roland Sexton.
She is survived by her sons Rodney Tomlinson, his wife Karen and son Cade of Ankeny, and Randy Tomlinson, his wife Jennifer and their children Taylor, Trenton and Lilianna of Nevada, IA; and her sister-in-law Mary Sexton of Farmington, NM.
Memorials are suggested to Regency Park Nursing and Rehab Center, Jefferson.
