“It was a beautiful day for golf but the team did not play well,” Greene County boys coach Dave Destival said about the Hawk-Norse Invitational Monday at Story City.
The Rams placed fifth of the six Heart of Iowa Activities Conference teams at the meet. Meet medalist was Tyler Risdal of Roland-Story with a 3-over par 75. Ram lead golfer Elijah Block shot an 84, including three penalty strokes. Other Ram scores in the total came from Jadon Block with a 91, Curtis Muir with a 94, and Ben Wilkins with a 102. Sawyer Schiltz shot 106 and Jared Marshall shot 138.
Team scores were Roland-Story 317; PCM 332; South Hamilton353; North Polk 359; Greene County 371; and Saydel 387.
The team starts post-season play with a sectional meet Friday in Denison.
