LifeServe Blood Center reminds area residents to “turn up to save lives” at upcoming community blood drives.
The Paton-Churdan chapter of National Honor Society will host a blood drive Friday, May 4, from 1 to 6 pm at the school in Churdan. Community members are welcome to participate.
The Greene County Medical Center auxiliary will host a blood drive Tuesday, May 8, from 12:30 to 5:30 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 801 W. Lincoln Way, in Jefferson.
Blood donors are needed to boost the community blood supply. One in seven people entering the hospital will require a blood transfusion, and the only way to supply that blood is from healthy volunteer blood donors, according to LifeServe.
Appointments for the blood drive can be made online at lifeservebloodcenter.org or by calling 800-287-4903.
