Miss Megan Leigh Dean and Dr. Zachary William Sutton were united in marriage on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Augusta, GA, with the Reverend David Hunter officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Dean of Augusta. She is the granddaughter of Patricia Quattlebaum and the late Joe Quattlebaum and Mary Lou Dean and the late Lieutenant Colonel John Dean, all of Augusta.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Sutton of Jefferson. He is the grandson of the late Keith and Gloria Sutton and William and Jane Ecklund.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a long-sleeved, V-neck pearl gown by Anne Barge. The dress was adorned with scalloped Alencon lace and a silk Mikado ball gown skirt. The ensemble was completed with a cathedral length heirloom veil passed from her mother and retailored for the bride. Megan carried a classic hand-tied bouquet of Juliette garden roses, mother-of-pearl roses and white Mikado spray roses interspersed with magnolia leaves and white astilbe.
Megan chose Mrs. Jenna Scherer as her matron of honor and Miss Elizabeth Bissell as her maid of honor. Both are friends of the bride from Augusta. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Kristin Burton, Mrs. Katie Dachenhausen, Miss Suzanne Rhodes, Mrs. Mackenzie Vick, all friends of the bride from Augusta, Mrs. Sarah Nazar, sister of the bridegroom from San Pedro Sula, Honduras, and Miss Grace O’Neal, Miss Madison O’Neal, and Miss Morgan Quattlebaum, all cousins of the bride from Augusta. Junior bridesmaids were Miss Lillian O’Neal and Miss Reagan Quattlebaum from Augusta, cousins of the bride. Miss Elizabeth Jane Nazar from San Pedro Sula, niece of the groom, was the flower girl.
Zachary chose his father to serve as his best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Daniel Bertsch from Ankeny, Brett Heltne from Minneapolis, MN, and Dr. Zach Singsank from Milwaukee, WI, friends of the groom, Will Ecklund from Clive, and Mark Warder from Richfield, MN, cousins of the groom, Scott Dean from Augusta, brother of the bride, Pastor Edward Nazar from San Pedro Sula, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and Carson Quattlebaum and Ethan Quattlebaum from Augusta, cousins of the bride. Miles Scherer from Augusta, friend of the bride, was the ring bearer.
The couple honeymooned in Italy and the Maldives and now reside in Augusta. Megan is employed by The Children’s Hospital of Georgia at Augusta University as a pediatric intensive care nurse. Zachary is employed by University Hospital as a doctor of emergency medicine.
