Early literacy skills are a strong predictor of school success. Parents can help their preschooler get a great start on reading and prepared for school with Family Storyteller through Greene County Extension & Outreach.
This free, six-session program is offered to preschoolers and their families through funding provided by Community Partnership for Protecting Children. Children have fun with books, receive activities to do at home, learn the value of reading, practice skills, and receive six free books to take home.
Kids and parents will meet Monday and Thursday evenings for three weeks beginning April 12. They will share a free meal beginning at 5:30 pm at First United Methodist Church in Jefferson. Class size is limited; families can register by calling Greene County Extension & Outreach at 515-386-2138 by April 9.
