The installation of three bathroom doors at the Rippey baseball park was successfully completed during the slight winter weather relief observed on Thursday, Jan. 18. Chad Ferguson (pictured, left) and Mike Molle (right), hung the specially ordered metal doors at the men’s and women’s restrooms along with one door for the storage area in the building.
This is a completion of the project funded by the Greene County Community Foundation with supplementation from the Friends of Rippey. The doors will keep rodents and other animals from using the bathrooms as a winter escape.
The baseball park facility, now known as the Walter Anderson Baseball Field, has hosted many successful high school teams for Rippey and East Greene, as well as Rippey summer town teams, including the Demons. The field is currently used during the summer months by the Greene County Schools middle school baseball team.
Additional plans for improvement of the field, and the painting of the grandstand are being developed for implementation in the summer of 2018. The potential of resurrecting a Rippey town team is being pondered and discussed for the future.
The Friends of Rippey thanked the Greene County Community Foundation for its ongoing support to the Rippey Community.
