Greene County Middle School will be represented by four musicians in the Simpson College middle school honor band on the Indianola campus Jan. 16. The students will be able to play in a larger, more advanced band than their band at Greene County, and they’ll experience being on a college campus.

Greene County inducts NHS members
The ranks of the National Honor Society at Greene County High School grew by 13 as new members were inducted Sunday, Nov. 12. Guest speaker at the ceremony was John Sawhill, a 2008 Jefferson-Scranton graduate and a member of NHS.

Iowans can start buying 2018 resident hunting, fishing and other licenses on Dec 15. Licenses purchased for 2017 expire on Jan. 10. The new construction at Greene County Elementary is finally complete and students and visitors can once again use the main entrance. The addition is now home to four 800 square-foot prekindergarten classrooms. Each class has between 16 and 20 students, principal Scott Johnson said. Classrooms in the rest of the building are about 900 square-feet.

The supervisors on Monday approved adding Teledoc’s “Healthiest You” program as a health benefit.
