In Greene County district court a judgment was entered Dec. 8 against James Kenneth Harris, 30, of Jefferson after he changed his plea to guilty to charge of domestic abuse assault. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail and must pay sheriff’s room and board fees for the time he serves. He shall not possess, ship, transport or receive offensive weapons or ammunition, and he must complete the Iowa domestic abuse program at his own expense. Harris was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge. Court costs were $210.72. Another case in which Harris was charged with domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness was dismissed, as was a case in magistrate court in which Harris was charged with violation of a protective order.
