The Greene County courthouse and county offices will be closed Christmas Day and Tuesday, Dec. 26. The county supervisors will meet Wednesday, Dec. 27, at 8:30 am. The treasurer’s office will close Friday, Dec. 29, at 4 pm for the semi-annual cash count.
Jefferson city offices will be closed Christmas Day but will be open Dec. 26. Trash/recycling collection will be on the holiday schedule with routes being picked up one day later than usual.
The Jefferson public library will be closed Saturday, Dec. 23, and Christmas Day.
The Greene County Community Center will be open Saturday from 6 am to 6 pm and Christmas Eve from 12 to 3 pm. It will be closed Christmas Day but will re-open Dec. 26 at 5 am. The daily fee for non-members will be waived with the donation of a non-perishable item for the Greene County Christian Action Resource Center food pantry from Dec. 26 -31.
The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Greene County office will be closed Christmas Day and on Dec. 26.
