The final “Connecting Schools and Parks” plan will be presented tonight, Thursday, at 5:30 pm at the Greene County Community Center.
Iowa State University design student Zoey Mauch has prepared the plan that suggests ways to connect the schools and parks in Jefferson by adding bike lanes to existing streets and creating new multi-use trails. She has held two community meetings to collect input from all interested groups.
According to Jefferson park and recreation director Vicky Lautner, Mauch’s final plan incorporates many of the suggestions she was given by the public.
The plan can be used if grant funds become available for such projects.
The public is encouraged to attend.
