Area residents are invited to mark their calendars for fun for all ages as plans are finalized for Christmas activities in the Scranton community.
Youngsters are invited to celebrate Christmas on Saturday, Dec. 2. The fun starts at the H.F. and Maude E. Marchant Library at 5 pm where there will be crafts and games for the youngsters.
Santa and Mrs Claus are scheduled to arrive at Scranton city hall at 6 pm with their transportation provided by a Scranton fire truck (it’s too early for Rudolph and the rest of the reindeer). Young and old will have an opportunity to meet Mr and Mrs Claus and tell them their holiday wishes. There will be treats and gifts for good boys and girls.
Scranton Betterment committee and the businesses in Scranton are planning their annual Christmas in Scranton event for Thursday, Dec. 7. Many businesses will serve refreshments and welcome their customers for the holiday event. Details are still being finalized – watch for details.
