To the editor:
After reading the article about the proposed new high school and a career academy to coordinate with Iowa Central Community College, it seems to me that this idea–brought to Greene County by Chris Deal and endorsed by others–has turned into a huge opportunity.
The question is, will the community hear the knock of opportunity, recognize its potential, and, better yet, get enthusiastically behind it to turn an opportunity into a reality for the long term future of Greene County?
Opportunities like this don’t come along very often, so we need to take advantage of another chance to move the county into the future in a positive, productive way. It’s the smart and courageous thing to do.
Berkeley Bedell wrote in his book Revenue Matters, “show me a government that only cuts back and does not CHARGE FORWARD, and I will show you a government that is a failure.” As Greene County residents, let’s continue to CHARGE FORWARD!
