The Greene County Ram cross country teams competed at the South Central Calhoun Invitational in Lake City Tuesday. Coach Jeff Lamoureux described it as “another solid meet for Greene County.”
The girls varsity team finished fourth of 12 teams and the boys finished 11th of 14 teams.
In the girls race, Bailey Cunningham was the first Ram to finish. Her time of 21:55.94 was good for fifth place. Kassie Lamoureux finished 17th in 23:15.99, and Conner Allender finished 29th in 24:25.10. Other Ram places and times were Ashlee Harmeyer, 33rd, 24:41.08; Izzy Bravard, 40th, 25:17.17; Regan Lamoureux, 42nd, 25:19.60; and Tieryn Tucker, 53rd, 26:10.11.
Team scores in the varsity girls race were Alta-Aurelia 68, Pocahontas Area/Laurens-Marathon 92, Ridge View 96, Greene County 124, Ogden 137, South Central Calhoun 138, Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove 161, Southeast Valley 173, Kuemper Catholic 215, Manson Northwest Webster 254, West Bend Mallard 313, and Sioux Central 332.
Ram Emily Hofer finished first in the JV girls race with a time of 26:32.58. Kirsten Lamoureux was 16th in 39:39.22, Emily Bettey was 18th in 2956.57, and Janelle Brophy was 24th in 32:30.74. There were not enough Rams in the race for a team score.
In the boys varsity race Luis Valazco paced the Rams, placing 38th in 20:06.00. Other places and times were Garrett Tasler, 45th, 20:31.14; Nic Killion, 47th, 20:47.53; Brian Hardaway, 55th, 21:11.19; Josh Ewalt, 89th, 24:25.12; Leo Mizok, 92nd, 25:11.00; and Anthony Tolsdorf, 93rd, 25:35.55.
Team scores for the boys varsity race were Woodward Academy 37, Ogden 57, Kuemper Catholic 109, South Central Calhoun 115, Sioux Central 148, Southeast Valley 191, Manson Northwest Webster 199, Alta-Aurelia 212, OA-BCIG 220, West Bend Mallard 262, Greene County 273, Poc Area/L-M 311; Ridge View 337, and East Sac County 356.
