Parents of children ages 3 through first grade are invited to participate in a new literacy program – Raising School Ready Readers – at the Webb House in Jefferson on Tuesdays, Oct. 3-31, from 5:30 to 7 pm.
Families that attend will receive free books and refreshments, get to participate in fun and educational activities, and enjoy an evening as a family. This program is free of cost to participants through the support of the Shopko Foundation and Iowa State University Extension & Outreach –Greene County.
The program focuses on developing children’s literacy skills through play, turning every day experiences into learning opportunities. Younger children are also welcome to attend with their parents and childcare with light refreshments provided.
