The Jefferson Friends of the Library will hold its 25th annual fall used book sale Sept. 23-30 in the Jefferson public library basement.
The week-long book sale begins Saturday, Sept. 23, at 9 am. Shoppers and readers can stock up on winter reading and holiday gifts. Included will be all types of books, including large print, mysteries, romance, cookbooks, history, inspirational fiction, and children’s books. Other items on the sale include DVD movies, audio books, music CDs, jigsaw puzzles, and games.
The first day of the sale is open to Friends of the Library members only. Basic membership is easy and affordable. For convenience, Friends memberships can be purchased before the sale at the adult librarian’s desk. Memberships will also be sold at the door on the first day of the sale. The best selection is on the first Saturday.
Beginning Monday, Sept. 25, the book sale is free and open to the public during the library’s regular open hours. “Watch for surprise daily specials Monday and through Friday – your favorite category might be one of them,” a spokesperson said.
The last day of the sale, Saturday, Sept. 30, will be Bargain Day. For only $4 a bag, shoppers will be furnished with a paper grocery bag which may be filled with books. Individually priced books and items will be sold at half price.
The Friends of the Jefferson Public Library hosts this annual used book sale as its major fundraiser of the year. “Through your memberships and purchases, you enable our library to offer more resources for everyone to use and enjoy. Support your local library by purchasing a membership today,” the spokesperson said.
