Marianne Carlson’s cinnamon rolls are the favorite of many Greene County residents and garner high bids whenever she offers them for a charity auction.
Judges of the Iowa State Fair cinnamon roll contest also like her rolls, choosing them as first place overall in the Aug. 12 contest. Carlson won a $200 cash prize and a stand mixer.
All entrants were required to present five rolls with a complete recipe and a story behind the cinnamon rolls. Entries were judged on taste, texture, appearance and story.
