With the start of school next Wednesday, the Jefferson park and recreation announces the hours for the end of the season at the municipal pool.
The pool will be open regular hours through Tuesday, with lap swim from 11:30 am to 1 pm and open swim from 1 to 8 pm. Family hour is 5:30 to 6:30 pm, when children must be accompanied by an adult.
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Aug. 23-25, the pool will be open for lap swim from 11:30 am to 1 pm and open swim from 4 to 7 pm.
Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 26-27, the pool will be open regular hours.
Monday through Saturday, Aug. 28 -Sept. 2, the pool will be open for the mid-day lap swim only.
The annual Doggie Paddle to benefit Animal Protection and Education (APE) is slated for Saturday, Sept. 2, from 1 to 3 pm. Dogs can swim in the pool, with the admission charge supporting APE’s low-cost spay and neuter clinics in central Iowa.
