Nominations for seats on the Greene County and Paton-Churdan boards of education are due Thursday, Aug. 3, at 5 pm. Nominating papers are available at the administrative building (204 W. Monroe St) for Greene County and at the school in Churdan. They must be returned to those offices by the deadline.
Greene County will elect three board members. The terms of Mike Dennhardt, Teresa Hagen and Dr David Ohrt are expiring. There are no director districts; all seats are district-wide representatives. The winners will serve four-year terms.
P-C voters will elect three representatives and fill a vacancy. The terms of Mitch Stream, Deonne Robey and Dennis Tilley are expiring. These are four-year terms. Eric Happe was appointed to fill the vacancy created when Steve Burrell resigned. That director will serve until the term expires in 2019.
Prospective Greene County candidates must obtain at least 50 signatures on the petitions while P-C candidates need just 10.
School board elections will take place all across Iowa Tuesday, Sept. 12.
