Teachers sharpen skills in teaching reading
Greene County Schools reading specialist Julie Neal was among the presenters at the Iowa Reading Association annual summer conference June 27-28 in Ames. Her topic was reading data procedures for grades K-12. Staff members Connie Hoffman, Kathy Dobney, Jenny Fisher, Michelle Wilkening, Maigan Haley, Stormy Fish and Annette Coil also attended the conference. The theme was “Dive Into Reading.”

Hardin Happy Hustlers The monthly meeting of the Hardin Happy Hustlers was held on May 7 at the Extension office. There were 15 members present. All Iowa drivers are reminded that effective July 1, they must change lanes or slow down when approaching stationary utility and maintenance vehicles with flashing lights activated. That includes. garbage, tow, and bucket trucks, and all other utility vehicles. Across the country, all states have “move over” laws, but only 12 states specifically protect utility service vehicles.
