The Greene County Fair will offer entertainment for all ages, in addition to livestock exhibits, open exhibits and 4-H project exhibits. In the line-up are an ag educator/magician who like “corny” puns, a family band that may remind people of Shirley Partridge and her clan, and the always-popular Poppin’ Penelope.
New this year is the Farmer Phil Show. He claims to have the world’s only comedy, juggling, magic ag education show. Folks are sure to be fascinated with his yo-yo tricks, too. Farmer Phil will entertain Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Also returning from the 2016 fair is Matt’s Family Jam, “a modern-day show band performing feel-good music for all ages.” The Rolf family hails from Branson, MO, and has performed at fairs all over the eastern U.S. They’ll perform Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the north end of the bus garage.
Poppin’ Penelope is returning to charm children with her balloon art. She’ll be seen strolling the fairgrounds with her 1950s costume, creating balloon objects “to order” for children and adults. She has been at the last several Greene County Fairs and is a favorite, particularly of children.
