Jefferson Garden Club has awarded June Yard of the Month honors to Roger and Teresa Chesler. The Cheslers’ home at 1202 W. Lincoln Way is nestled in a scenic wooded area. Standing in their yard gives a beautiful view in any direction. Large stately oak trees are plentiful and there are pine and apple trees as well. Further from the house a creek runs through their property.
Along the sides of the house are planted hostas and Annabelle hydrangeas. A Japanese maple tree adds color with its vibrant red leaves.
In the picture the Cheslers and Garden Club member Sue Lucht (right) are standing in front of a shed with window boxes of petunias and sweet potato vines. Nearby are planters filled with tomato plants that they hope the deer will leave alone.
