Rachael Danielson played well in the first day of the Class 4A state golf tournament at Elmwood Country Club in Marshalltown Tuesday, shooting an 88 and tied for fourth place.
According to golf coach Heath Telleen, “She really played will on the back nine again and left a few strokes out there.”
Danielson is 10 strokes behind the leader, Sarah Nacos of Washington. Bella Amador-Lacson of Grinnell shot an 84, and Brooke Anderson of Humboldt shot an 85. Danielson is tied with Taylor Thede of Maquoketa.
The tournament will conclude Wednesday.
