In Greene County district court Lyric Marie Stier, 21, of Marshalltown was sentenced May 16 to two years in prison after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of operating without owner’s consent. The prison term was suspended and she was placed on probation for two years. Stier was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge and a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge. She must pay $500 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees and $432.95 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Kester)
Kyle Dean Rysavy, 19, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment after he pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. He was placed on informal probation for one year and must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. A judgment was entered for a $315 civil penalty with a $125 LEI surcharge and a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE). Michael Allen Olson, 55, of Jefferson was sentenced to two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal mischief- third degree, amended from criminal mischief- second degree. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. Olson was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge and a $125 LEI surcharge. He must also pay $250 restitution to the city of Jefferson, restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees to be determined, and $100 court costs. A case in magistrate court in which Olson was charged with interference with official acts and public intoxication was dismissed. Court costs in that case were $60. (Sentencing: Kester)
Jacob Thomas Monthei,18, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment after he pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana- second offense. He was placed on informal probation for one year and must under a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He must pay a civil penalty of $315, a $125 LEI surcharge, a $10 DARE surcharge, and $500 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees. Court costs were $121. A case in magistrate court in which Monthei was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. Court costs were $60 in that case. (Sentencing: Kester)

The jail time was suspended and he was placed on probation for one year. Hamilton was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge. Julie Ann Wells, 50, of Auburn was sentenced to two days in jail after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana- second offense. The jail time was suspended and she was placed on informal probation for one year. She must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at her own expense. Her driver’s license was revoked for 180 days. Wells was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge, a $125 LEI surcharge and a $10 DARE surcharge. She must also pay $750 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees. A charge of operating without the owner’s consent was dismissed. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: Kester)
Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Chantelle Lee Wolf, 33, of Rhodes, attempted burglary- third degree- motor vehicle (six counts); Christopher John Clifton, 56, of Perry, possession of methamphetamine- third or subsequent offense; Theresa Kathleen Garcia Ferguson, 40, of Fort Dodge, possession of marijuana- third or subsequent offense and possession of methamphetamine- third or subsequent offense; Theodore John Herrick, 36, of Jefferson, driving while license barred; Thler Ferguson, 20, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana- first offense; Christopher Robin Lawrence, 56, of Jefferson, operating while intoxicated- first offense; and Robin Kay Pickell, 60, of Luther, OWI- second offense and unlawful possession of prescription drug (two counts). Trial dates were set for July 18 in every case.
A case was initiated against Dallas Edward Forkner, 34, of Boone on a charge of driving while license barred.
