Registrations are now being accepted for the Bill Riley Talent Search slated for Saturday, June 10, as part of the Bell Tower Festival. Bolton & Menk is once again sponsoring the show, making cash prizes possible for first, second and third place winners in both the Sprout and the Senior divisions. First place winners will qualify to compete at the Iowa State Fair in August.
Solo acts or acts with up to five performers will compete in two age divisions: Sprouts, for ages 2-12; and Seniors, for ages 13-21. Acts should be no longer than three minutes long. Visit the Bill Riley Talent Search page under the “Participate” tab at www.iowastatefair.org for complete rules.
The Bill Riley Talent Search will begin at 5 pm on the Plaza Stage on the south side of the courthouse in Jefferson.
“The Bill Riley Talent Search is a wonderful Iowa tradition that gives performers a chance to showcase their talents and gain the experience that comes only from being on stage,” said local show coordinator Tori Riley. “We’re looking forward to an entertaining show.”
There is no charge to compete. Registration forms are available on the Bell Tower Festival page under the “Tourism” tab on the Greene County Chamber’s website, www.greenecountyiowa.org, by mailing show coordinator Riley at 305 W. State St, Jefferson, IA 50129, by emailing her at news@greenecountynewsonline.com or by calling her at 515-386-3087. Completed registration forms should be returned to Riley by mail or email.
