Elderbridge Agency on Aging is conducting a series of meetings around the area to offer assistance to the elderly and their caregivers. The agency invites people to join them on Thursday, May 18, at the Wild Rose Casino in Jefferson for a 6 pm buffet dinner.
Caregiving can be a balancing act, especially if you’re employed or are a caregiver to your spouse, have other responsibilities or health problems of your own. You can’t do it all alone and you don’t have to.
The meal is free and there are no sales pitches. A special speaker will give an informative introduction during dinner followed by a brief overview of the Elderbridge programs and services than can assist local residents on a daily basis.
Pre-registration is required for the meal by calling 800-243-0678. Please specify that you plan to attend the Jefferson event. Meals are limited to the first 50 callers.
The meeting is open to the public and those without dinner reservations may take part in the discussion following the meal.
Elderbridge has family caregiver specialists who want to share knowledge and experience to connect people with the help they need. They listen to the requests or problems, answer questions, give choices of service providers in the area and make referrals if you wish. Information about financial assistance and benefits to fund the services may be available. ~courtesy of The Scranton Journal
